Last painting of 2014!

Wait that’s, not right – I still have to do my wife’s annual dog ornament! Doh! 9 days to go! Anyway, this portrait will be going out, along with the previous one, just in time for Christmas. I know the client is happy with it – let’s hope the young lady that is the subject is happy with them. I do a lot of landscapes; very detailed work, some animals and various illustrations – but to me, one of the most difficult things to paint or draw is a woman’s face. It had better be right! or at least flattering. Based on the reference I was provided, I think I did a good job. But, being that I had never met the subjects in person makes it tricky. I think these will make a beautiful duo on the wall, and a treasure for many generations of this family.
